Richard Gipe has retired from Cueing, so we are looking for a new Cuer!
We wish Richard and Roseanne all the best and hope to see them in a square!
Richard and Roseann Gipe Pic    Richard & Roseann met in 1983, when both were taking Country-Western dance classes. They became members of a group called the Country Spinner's from Canby. The Country Spinners were a demo/competition group that danced in Oregon & Washington, and as far away as Reno, Nevada.

They competed in what was then called the Northwest Country-Western Dance Association. Richard & Roseann danced with the Country Spinner's for about 2 years, during which time they married in 1984. In 1991, at the suggestion of their horse shoer, they took square dance lessons from Tom Adamson of the Squaws & Paws, and they became immediately hooked on square dancing.

In 1992 they took basic round dance lessons from Lloyd & Joyce Goode, and plus lessons from Craig Abercrombe. During the next several years and into the present they take intermediate lessons from several teachers in the area.

In 1998, Richard attended Ray Walz's cueing school and has been cueing ever since. He cues up to phase 4, and Richard & Roseann dance up to easy phase 5 in several rhythms. They have taught off and on since 2002, phases 2-3. Richard & Roseann are members of RoundaLab, the national association of round dancing, and ORDTA, the Oregon Round Dance Teachers Association where he serves as Treasurer.

He cue'd for the Country Capers and for the Chaps & Petticoats in Aurora.
